Spray Drying Nozzles

The spray drying process is used in the production of many powdered foods, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and abrasives.

The basic principle is to spray a fine spray of the liquid product into a hot stream of air that evaporates the water leaving a powder to fall and be collected.  The process requires the continuous spraying of liquids at very high pressures.  For these demanding spraying conditions Bete produce a range of specialist spray drying nozzles which are detailed in this section.

Nozzle selection

Some key engineering considerations when selecting nozzles for spray drying can be viewed by clicking on the links in the blue menu bar to the right.

Information on the different designs of spray drying nozzle can be accesed by clicking on the links in the grey navigation bar, also to the right.

All the relevant information from this section is summarised in a handy nozzle selection cheat sheet which is accessed by the orange tab again to the right hand side of this page.
