Omni-directional nozzles - rotary solid stream designs

This design of spray nozzle uses some of the fluid pressure to rotate solid stream jets in both the horizontal and vertical plane. The rotation is geared such that over time the jets will be directed over a complete 360 pattern. The speed of rotation is dependent on the fluid pressure, however, this can be varied by changing the topology of the internal drive turbine. In this way sit is possible to slow down high pressure sets ups to ensure sufficient dwell time to clean even the most stubborn residues.

Water Efficiency

Rotary solid stream nozzles are the most energy and water efficient tank cleaning systems. They will use far less water per square meter cleaned that static or rotary flat fan nozzles, however, they provide relatively high impact cleaning jets and so may not be suitable for smaller applications. As there is no point in over cleaning a surface Oribtors may in fact be less water efficient for smaller tanks or those that only require a light rinse.

Time Efficiency

The Hydrowhirl Orbitor takes time to build up a complete spray pattern. This time will vary, depending on water pressures and gearing configuration. But regardless of configuration until the cycle is complete some areas of the tank will remain completely uncleaned. Typical cycle are 20-30 minutes. In contrast a static omni-directional nozzle will give complete coverage more or less instantly. Whilst it will take a static nozzles some time to achieved any decent level of cleaning for very quick rinses they will be far faster than Oribitors and so may be more appropriate for such situations.
